GreenUp: Fall Sweep

GreenUp: Fall Sweep – September 5, 2020

In conjunction with the Woodlands Township, Grogan’s Point held a socially distanced community clean up on September 5th, and picked up a LOT of trash from our streets, paths and parks! Thank you to all of your who took the time to come out and show your environment some love by cleaning up. You DID make a difference.

Everyone who participated and submitted a photo showing them picking up trash had their names entered into the drawing for prizes. Here are the results:

  • Starbuck’s gift cards were awarded to: Martha Macris and Cara Giles
  • A Fielding’s Restaurant gift card was awarded to: Melinda Holt
  • Every child who participate was given a Baskin Robbins gift card

Our grand prize of an eco-friendly rain barrel was awarded to: Kelsey Lyle (with our heartfelt gratitude to Sabina Rahman Garcia of BCI Medicare Solutions for donating this!)

We plan to participate in the official GreenUp event in the spring, so if you missed this event, never fear – you will get another opportunity. If you are interested in purchasing your own rain barrel, and receiving a rebate from the Woodlands Water (on your next water bill), you can do that at the following link: https://www.thewoodlandsgreen.org/rain-barrels.
